Now more than ever, we can all benefit from resilience building and calming practices. If you are looking for ways to better manage stress, mindfulness has been receiving a lot of attention as a tool to increase your resilience, improve your focus, performance and well-being, mindfulness can be great way to get started with benefits such as less stress, better sleep, increased focus, increased productivity, increased self-awareness, less self-judgement and more.
In the post-pandemic world, however, we understand our current student body have gone through an extremely unique situation in their formative years, as well as adults having survived varying level of hardships – all which could lead to a potentially more vulnerable nervous system.
“Unbeknownst to many, mindfulness meditation can exacerbate symptoms of traumatic stress. Instructed to pay close, sustained attention to their inner-world, people struggling with trauma can experience flashbacks, dysregulation, or dissociation.” – David Treleaven, Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness
It is this website’s belief and desire to offer a step up in creating a safer environment. We do our best to stay up to date with the latest knowledge and are grateful for the opportunity to explore our breath, body and beyond in a trauma sensitive way, based on the learning from various Polyvagal communities and trauma aware communities and from around the world.
